Hi Ms. Whitney!
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading The Hunger Games. I am so intrigued with the detail and depth in this book that I read it every night and in the day and I am even on the final chapter! The movie was good but the book explains so much more and really gives the idea a good sense of character. I am looking forward to finishing the book but sad it has to end for there are things that were not included in the movie including special details about Katniss. There are flash-backs when she and Gale were kids there is an entirely different part about Peeta and Katniss in the rain and it is so interesting, there is also more about Rue and her district and more information on the other districts. I am looking forward to the next book, no matter where I get it, if I buy it, rent it, win it I don't care all I know is I want to continue and series and truly hope that the second book contains as much content as the first. I thank you for suggesting this and I'm hoping to start Wicked Lovely as well so I'll be sure to let you know when I start that. May the odds be ever in your favor!
Claire, :)
Its me again!
ReplyDeleteI finished The Hunger Games! Though I am sad it had to end I am also kind of glad cause now I can get to reading Wicked Lovely! I am very excited about it and here is my final review on The Hunger Games.
In the beginning Katniss was nothing more then a hunter scavenging food in the woods for her family but after volunteering as a tribute and taking her sister's place in the Seventy-fourth annual Hunger Games she was served by Avoxes (people who had committed a crime/broken the law), all the food she could eat and all the clothes she could ask for she suddenly realized why she was here in the first place. Katniss and Peeta were unforgettable when entering in the chariot and even to the start of the games they had Sponsors routing for them. After being given advice and training help from the only other Victor from District 12 they began to fight other Tributes after entering the arena. Katniss had found supplies and even gathered weapons from other dead tributes, fighting the elements and muttations materialized by the Gamemakers and even natural causes of death such as; dehydration, starvation, animal attacks and blood loss. This book is filled with action and excitement and even romance between the unforgettable Katniss and Peeta. I am so glad you suggested this book and I am very excited to start Wicked Lovely and update you along the way about that as well. I know I didn't really have to put in everything about the book but it was so intriguing I couldn't help myself. Hope I didn't give you too much to read :)
Thanks again!
Claire,
I have started Wicked Lovely! Aislinn (sp?) is already an interesting character and the idea and concept even in the very beginning is amazing and I can't wait to progress further along in the book as I go. I am very excited about it and to comment along the way :)
ReplyDeleteClaire,
I am progressing farther along and if the book stays how it is now through the entire thing I will be one happy customer :) I'm still not sure about Beira and Keenan yet but I am slowly learning more and more about them with each chapter. I am glad how in this book Aislinn told Seth and there wasn't drama like there are in a lot of books in movies. I am very pleased so far and I assume it will just get better and better :)
ReplyDeleteClaire,
I am beginning to understand more about the book as I continue and progress further on. Keenan is charming though I am assuming there is a twist somewhere in the middle and Aislinn will most likely end up with Seth. I am liking how it switches from Aislinn to Donia and even to Keenan and Beira. They all have a great sense of character. I have to say I was on the edge of my seat (bed really) when I started reading the part where Aislinn was being harassed and hurt by the three guys. It has gotten very interesting. I knew Seth liked Aislinn from the start but he finally kissed her! That part was so sweet and touching :) They will probably end up with each other hence they are perfect for each other. I'm not sure what to picture Seth as though...sometime's I see a dark haired muscular man with a dark green tee shirt and jeans but when in the book the author mentions Aislinn watching him play with his lip ring I get the slightly more gangster gothic feel and picture him with black hair and a white tee and jeans though still muscular. Even if I don't get finished by the 18th I am still going to finish this book cause it is honestly going to be one of my favorites.
