Books for June!

Sorry for the delay folks, but here are our two next books! Remember, these will be the books that take us through the Summer Reading Program. If you have not signed up for summer reading, but would like to contact the library ASAP!!

Our first book was a suggestion by Michelle Embrey, Thanks Michelle!!  We will be reading Wicked Lovely, by Melissa Marr! This is the first book in the Wicked Lovely trilogy, Marr's 21st Century era Fairy Tale. Here's a little snippet from Goodreads.

Faery intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning twenty-first-century faery tale

Our second book will be the very popular, Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This is the first book of the trilogy that is now a movie franchise! A little bit from Goodreads...

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

I have multiple copies of these books now available so stop by and see us!! As always, each book will get its own book review post with a few ideas to think about. It will be these two separate posts that you comment on. You can read one or both selections, or you can tell us why you decided not to read them!

Later this week I will be posting more about how you can get more points (or drawing entries) for Summer Reading... the theme this year is “Beneath the Surface” so while you're reading think about how this could apply to these selections!
